Day 1: Fez - Merzouga
We will pick you up at your accommodation in Fez and immediately start the long drive into the desert. Our drive (7 h) takes us over the imposing Atlas Mountains into the Middle Atlas with its cedar forests, orchards, and agricultural fields. Soon, the date palms of the Ziz Valley line the way, and shortly after, we enter the vastness of the desert. We discover the dunes. With sand under your feet or, if you feel like it, on a camel. An unforgettable sunset with a view of the seemingly endless desert landscape puts us in the right mood for the evening. In the camp, in the middle of the dunes, we will have dinner accompanied by the sounds of drums. The Milky Way has never been so close..
Day 2: Toudgha valley
Early in the morning, we watch the sunrise and drive northward. On the way, we visit an old irrigation system (Khettara) that was once used to irrigate palm trees and fields. Then, we continue to the Toudgha Valley with its steep red rock walls. We visit the majestic Toudgha Gorge, whose walls are up to 300 meters high and popular with climbers..
Day 3: Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah
Today, we drive along the "Road of 1000 Kasbahs", which runs 300 kilometres from Errachidia to Ouarzazate and connects the High with the Anti-Atlas. On the way, we stop in Skoura, where we visit the Amridil Kasbah, one of the oldest kasbahs in the country's southeast. We continue our way to Ouarzazate - the Hollywood of Morocco and visit the famous Kasbah Ben Haddou, or, rather, a nested collection of Kasbahs. The 11th-century Kasbah has been a filming location for famous movies and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will spend the night near the Kasbah..
Day 4: Marrakesh
Ait Ben Haddou was once a stopover for the caravans from Timbuktu on their way to the economic centre of Marrakech. For about 50 years, the historic site has repeatedly served as a backdrop for films such as "Lawrence of Arabia" "Gladiator," "Game of Thrones" and "Prince of Persia." After an extended visit, we continue our journey. On the way to Marrakech, the scenery changes. Not a desert landscape, but the mountain world passes us by. We stop in the Berber village of Telouet and, depending on our mood, visit the Kasbah El Glaoui. After crossing the Tichka Pass (2260 m), we reached our destination, Marrakech. We trust you've had an unforgettable journey with us, filled with unique experiences and cultural discoveries. We look forward to welcoming you back for more adventures in the future. Maybe you will come again?.
